The Process

We Always Pay Up Front
We Only Harvest Marked Trees

So, you think you might want to sell your timber, but you aren’t quite sure. How do I go about doing it? How do I know I can trust someone? Will they help me learn the process? How do we handle payment? Fear no more, we’re here to help and have laid out the major parts of the process below…

The first step is to make contact with us. You can call us at 765-828-9051 or fill out the contact page and we’ll call you. We’ll speak with you and get an idea on your goals for the property and answer any questions.

Once we have an idea of what you want to accomplish, we will start the process of valuing your trees. There are a couple ways we handle this, but ultimately, we will give you a price for marked trees.

After we have agreed on the number of trees and a price, we will execute a contract laying out our responsibilities and your responsibilities. We sign the contract, you sign the contract, then you get a check. It is possible to be paid 100% upon closing, or have payments spaced out for tax purposes.

The logging process can start shortly thereafter, or sometimes over a year later depending on environmental factors and market conditions. Our loggers are trained to use Best Management Practices (BMP’s) and will work to minimize damage to your forest and property.

Once logging is complete, we start the closeout process. We push debris out of fields, clear waterways, smooth ruts per BMP guidelines, install water bars, etc. We can even take the baseline closeout process a step further and leave you with an open trail system for recreation.

If you have any questions along the way please ask them. We want you to be able to make an informed decision. You’ll feel better about it and we will too. We want you to understand everything and be happy with your decision.

We’ve all heard horror stories about so and so that had their property logged. Too many trees were cut, it wasn’t cleaned up afterwards, and the amount of money didn’t come in like it was supposed to. Never Never Never sell your timber unless it is marked, contracted, and paid up front.
